Mapping Social Risks in Haiti in Partnership with UNICEF

In June 2012, 24 adolescents from two low income neighborhoods in Port-au-Prince –Village de Dieu and Citê Plus– participated in a training workshop given by members of UNICEF and InSTEDD’s iLab Latin America, in collaboration with the local NGOs GHESKIO (Groupe Haïtien d’Etude du Sarcome de Kaposi et des Infections Opportunistes) and ONAVC (Observatoire National de la Violence et de la Criminalité).

They were trained to conduct surveys in their communities for a project focused on digitally mapping risk factors related to HIV/AIDS, called “Map PaP”, which stands for “Mapping” and “Port- au-Prince”. The main goal of the project is to guarantee that Port-au-Prince adolescents have access to universal healthcare.
